I don't think it is coincidence there is a larger number of INTJ's.

I haven't been able to reproduce the larger lot of information, a bigger contribution about more specifics, income, age, occupation, assets held etc... an overwhelming number of IT folk, not low level IT involvement, salaries commanding up and around $250,000 mark.

Am I incorrect assuming INTJ's can tend to make up people working in IT field?

    They are very rational/scientificky types.

They certainly enjoy their interests and toys, but very big on delayed gratification to obtain goals. Especially financial goals. Sophisticated investors, yes. Wealth accumulators, yes, materialistic I'm inclined to think not so in the moment..ie I want a brand new plasma-get-on-credit-type behaviour.

I would love to see a breakdown of personality types for the wealthiest people in the world, I know some have been put up already, but it's always tricky taking internet info assessment of people...and sometimes it can vary!

Ah, some more delving called for.

Yes, I'd say so. IT offers a huge variety of work, there is client facing applications and interaction, there is the techie stuff... but it’s all about systems and that’s TJ all over. The ISTJs are there because they can dive real deep and be expert coders/Testers and so forth. The INTJs can think big and think small, there are so many potential uses of IT. INTJs love not books but really information, and technology is the system to harness that information.. that’s why they call it IT.

I've often said, if you want to understand the INTJ mind then understand computer systems, they are its manifestation.

I think that’s where science has lost most of its top people to.

I think the more INTJ are very much into bigger goal objectives. Its like if you know you can achieve the objective then its pointless to pursue it, if you have a chance to fail... then why not go for the huge playoff and see if you're capable of winning the ultimate intellectual joust.

I think self made (non entertainment) wealth would be more TJ. I do think wealthy people have far greater flexibility in their type. You need to be E to rally the troops, you need to be I to have spend a considerable time in thought. I think the 2 lesser traits would be F and P. Feeling won't make you incredibly wealthy as you'll give up that aspiration and use that money as a tool. You'd need to be more J to make it happen. Obviously there are outliers to this, if your wealth is more based on "brand" then it’s more like "entertainment" and as such it’s about creativity and ideas and perception as you can get the Js to cover your tracks.

    Bingo!

...and people networking/relating and the fun and the journey, hmmm...I've had a little moment here, I'm celebrating the journey, the, (correction, some tend to) INTJ's are about the goal is it a competition within themself?

It isn't to say either of us are right or wrong, it just is...it is how each of our engine rooms functions.

Thing is, I know without a doubt, they are people that I choose to be around for the techie stuff, the facts, the figures, the legal eagle jargon, but I excel at the people stuff and some other things.

Emotion utilised in wealth creation, (and that includes intuition too), is good for business you know. Genuine kindness and empathy and patience and ....putting back into something that is good to you, instead of treading over bodies.....

Sometimes I ask myself what on earth am I doing here?

    Default INTJ Purpose = goal

I think the competition with oneself is more about defining a useful goal. A goal is a purpose. Without a purpose there is no point. This is why we don't care for small talk and tend to not live for the moment, the future is a pathway and we want to walk along it.

Although, many people haven't thought too much about life other that what is simply before them. Hence, they are always participants along for the ride.

That sounds nice in theory, but business is a lot tougher than that.
I like treading over dead bodies as too many people don't give a damn and waste my money. I find it incredibly hard to relate to people that just can't see, and who don't have any common sense. But in saying so, I'll tread over bodies to help good people. Refer to goal = purpose.
