Default Left and Right Brain - Jung types

    Ok, new theory time..

This one revolves around how when the corpus callosum (piece that joins the two hemispheres (left and right) of the brain) is cut that subjects are literally in 2 minds. Consider the alien hand syndrome as an instance Alien hand syndrome - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

And more importantly have a read of this article.

New Theories of Depression Focus on Brain's Two Sides - The New York Times

So, depending on what hemisphere a subject resides in most (takes priority) you can get a perspective and an almost association with Jungs typings.

Consider this: "left side is associated with logical, analytical thinking while the right side is more intuitive, emotional and creative"

    And consider this " http://www.departments.bucknell.edu/...ers/03Boyd.pdf

Which tends to support the notion that " left hemisphere as the logical, rational half and the right hemisphere as the more intuitive side. The left brain processes information in a straightforward, linear fashion, while the right brain handles inputs as gestalts or patterned wholes. Another way of putting this is that the right brain sees the forest and
the left brain the individual trees. "

From the above the layout of the brain on average looks a bit like this ->

Where you have Thinking as a left brain activity and Intuition as a right brained activity. Sensing by implication is left brained (like thinking - as immediacy of thought), given that Feeling in Jung’s terms is the opposite of Thinking then you'd expect it Right side. This tends to be confirmed in the New York Times article, "intuitive, emotional and creative"

If you consider Thinking and Sensing to be what I'd call immediacy (The right here right now being part of the world outward facing) then you'd expect a more extravert natural type. Also you'd expect a more Judging type orientation given that sensing and thinking are highly correlated with it. Rules and procedures, linear conformance and efficiency.

The pattern forming, intuition, Feeling, Introversion are all inward facing or reflective processes. Right brain.

So, as an approximation you can get a feel for the distribution.

Interestingly, and as I'd expected the INTJ types are more distributive across the hemispheres.

Nb: I do have a belief that the right brain is the risk avoidance side with the left side being the risk taking side. They work in tandem to seek the optimal position to take.

And finally.. a statement from the net... "The lack of left-hemisphere dominance is known to greatly increase your chances for depression and for emotional and mental problems, all of which plague the right-hemisphere dominant left-handers".

Default Jung's types - mainfestation of observable brain hemisphere types

The conclusion of the above post could also show that Jung really was observing the differences in brain hemisphere dominance.

The biggest difference is between thinking and feeling. (Immediacy)

Intuition can be either knowing thinking or knowing feeling. (Latency)

With Right Brain Feeling being more Risk focused (hurt / pain) and Left brain being more Reward focused (Satiation / Enjoyment)

Obviously, I am talking about the underlying key drivers to human mindset with various other elements interacting to varying degrees. E.g. a classical Introversion is Feeling, it is Risk wary focus. Extroversion being Reward.

Judging and perceiving is a difficult one and really only has been used to further isolate types. For instance an emotional feeler can be the most harsh judge of violation of rules (J) but at the same time they can be the most liberal as they have empathy for non conformance and thus tolerance for it I.e. (P) Perceiving.

Anyway, the size of the fonts used in the diagram is there to emphasise the differences in weightings and likely accuracy.
