Must admit I’m pretty "excited" about something that I read about autism that yet again provides a link across to other aspects I have written about (And have yet to write about)

I believe that all the time we are getting closer and closer to the Notion that Autism like being "too tall" is simply an accentuation of parental biological traits. Just as being "too tall" can have social stigma it also has adaptive advantages in the right environment, same too with "autism".

Do we label tall people? Do we try to make them walk short?

I'll try to write this weekend about it...

Well, got side tracked from Cortical functions into Episodic memory.

I think I can venture beyond the Korsakoff patients and hypothesis what they are really alluding to, as it converges with one of my theories.

Anyway, I'll try and get that posted when I get it written up "properly". Time is short in supply, sleep even moreso.

This is really really interesting.

My "genetic family" on my fathers side must suffer from genetic anomia.

Incredible difficulty remembering names of objects and innaminate things.

I can have known someone for years and cannot remember their name.

Same with learning. I only remember when its associative or through very high repetition.

My father has read thousands of books and is a shocking speller of words.

Often have wondered if we reroute our thoughts down different pathways.. we recollect from different memory banks. Associative areas rather than discrete recollection.

Interesting...

Physiological correlates have been found that accompany the personality dichotomy "Introvert/Extrovert". Introverts display more cortical blood flow (more arousal) with lower levels of stimulation than Extroverts. A few drops of lemon juice on the tongue of an Extrovert will produce little saliva, but extreme Introverts will salivate profusely. Introverts require a much higher dose of sedative to put them to sleep than Extroverts. Introverts are naturally more aroused than Extroverts (who are driven to seek sensation & stimulation). At the root of these differences are higher levels of norepinephrine (noradrenalin) in the brains of Introverts.

The funniest search query that has found this site has to be

"do fruit flies have personality"

Its just seriously funny, quite possibly someones' whole waking life is pondering this question. It just may be more important to them than the meaning of life itself.

The problem with the question is you would need to define personality as opposed to natural instinct before even considering the fruit fly.
