I was having a discussion over dreams, surprisingly, nobody quite sees them the way I do.

Anyway, I see them as the transition phase as we move from our basic powered down state towards the conscious normal state of awakeness.

In effect, I believe as we power down our conscious senses we go into more of a subconscious state where we rely more on our most basic functions to keep us safe and alive. As we head towards awakeness our senses move through the subconsciousness into consciousness and during that transition phase we have a mix of brain patters between the sub and conscious which give us those dreams. Quite possibly our consciousness thought patterns are still looking down into the subconsciousness as thats where the main stimulus is (until the outside world provides greater input).

See, I believe short term memory is connected with consciousness. Long term memory is connected with the subsconsciousness and these provide intuition. I actually believe that the intuitive subconsciousness can also provide randomness as it tries to construct an interlinking framework of "thoughts" and "senses". Dreams appear to be like this, the subconsciouness is trying to make sense of all the data and link it all together, the rise into consciousness captures the tail end of this and gives a level of visualisation and experience simply to due to the conscious senses being awakened.

I have a friend who sometimes in her dreams can relate back specific details of "stuff" she has never seen, yet, but exists.

Also she, at times dreams of events (usually within a few weeks timeframe) that unfold, not generalised dreams, but very specific details, unique to certain individuals and places she has never seen, nor met.

Her sensory perception, (to me), is highly developed, and all this, without ever seeing these places or people, and also foretells events that have occured or will occur.

For example, she lives in the US, (I am in Australia), has never seen my house or furniture, (no photographs, no descriptions-ever, by me) and she has dreamt, with great, specific detail of it. Also my neighbors, their names, a problem they were facing as a family, and trying to deal with....she had no idea of them or any information. She also dreamt (again with great specifics), of a car accident that happened to my sister in law, a fortnight before it happened, the detail of her description from her dream was totally accurate to the event.

There have been other dreams too, it's been a fascinating couple of years.

I'd see her abilities as having picked off small pieces of information out a wider set of discussions you have had, and her subconscious has pattern formed them into a scenario. Her dreams can just see all that in action.

I personally don't believe in premonition etc, good guesses more like. I don't even believe intuition is anything more than subconscious inferences, and analogies that are translated to other topics.

In the past I've had various dreams that I thought were true when I woke up. I've thought there was someone in my room during my dream and that was pretty scary as I wanted to move my body but I knew it was paralysed with sleep. Actually, once I saw a robbery in my dreams and even could remember the licence plate of the getaway car when I woke up... But, the mind is great at imagery, and just like I see patterns and fill in thought holes in like... its almost obvious that my mind will fill in the canvas of the scene of the dream... it invented a number plate on the car as its stupid to not have one...

Anyway, dreams are of interest, but I don't read much into them.. other than seeing our inner world and its processes of interpreting data.

Yes, and I used to think like that, what you just said...but it's far greater, there is.........something most humans have not even tapped into. There is something in our minds that is very powerful, I am just trying to keep an open mind on everything, I wandered onto this site:

I am not a member, I only found it a few weeks ago, am not trying to make people read anything, it's just.. (for me)? sharing information and people can make up their own minds if so inclined.

I would not have wandered onto this site even if not for the events of last two years, whatever the explanation for stuff, it is incredible.

Yes, I do actually believe there are greater things than just this drudge towards death.

My mother died a few years back at a young age (of a cancer that seems to be very very rare) anyway, before she died we spoke a lot and she promised to contact me if it was possible from the other side. It was our pact. As she said, "if anyone can, I can, and nothing will stop me if it’s possible".

Times came to pass, and I was extremely upset some months after her death as I sat in front of the computer... then the ceiling light bulb suddenly went off, I didn't hear it pop... so I walked over to the light switch (and by that time I really was wondering if I flicked that switch whether the light would work or not, I'd even then thought it was her)... I held my finger over the switch for maybe a minute just wondering what would happen when I flicked it...

And you know what, it did come on. I tried testing that switch for about half an hour after that trying to see if it could have switched itself off.

Also, about a week later, I then remembered about the strange problems I had with my CD player on the morning of her funeral, the CD kept playing at a slow speed. It played well the day before and has played well since after.

However, the most recent incident is when I was speaking to my father on the phone (I was laying on the floor) and the ceiling light bulb this time did pop and the bulb dropped and I felt it hit me on the stomach. At which point I said on the phone to my father, I think mum has just signalled to me again.. why? And he said, well it was the anniversary of her death a couple of days ago (It was the first time I'd caught up with my father in a few weeks).

lol... if I ever get a phone call from her... I know the first thing will be "Don't forget my birthday" .

Seriously though, I've maintained for quite a while that any advanced life form (And I'm talking 10b years advanced) is quite likely to have lost a physical format (Its inefficient to send around the universe) and quite possibly it could just host itself in a physical format by attaching to biological objects on planets (Like humans). In effect we could just be aliens. lol lol .. that’s the thing with infinite time and technology... absolutely anything is plausible.
