    Default Analogies and Intuition

I have a basic premise that Intuition is basically an extrapolation out from a person’s framework of understanding. The better that framework, the better the intuitive ability.

However, analogies seem quite interesting as they may in fact highlight the person’s use of knowledge frameworks that are not directly related to the subject matter.

Analogies try to provide approximations to an answer within a set of boundaries (parameters), but just as the act of providing an analogy provides greater evidence to the answer, it also shows that intuition can be projected out from many other observations and understandings in life that subconsciously the person may not be aware of. (Think of making analogies subconsciously in your mind and suddenly on a conscious level having an intuitive leap in a different subject matter).

    Default Analogies & Subconscious Thinking

    As a further explanation...

Think of subconscious actions/thoughts being like an auto suggestion of previous understandings (retained memory) of conscious thought. Then consider analogies as being conscious approximations to a solution and understandings, and then think of intuition as being the mirror to this in the subconscious state.

Analogies seem to me indicate non linear approximations and concepts, I wouldn't expect sensing types to use analogies as much as a highly developed intuitively thinking people.

Additionally, analogies also seem to me, to indicate a person in the rational thinking mode trying to reach out from their framework to deductively answer a problem based on their rational framework.

Default Analogies are more feeling based?

I realised the other day that ostensibly I used to use more analogies when I was very young (to understand and connect the world) and currently still use them with less knowledgeable people...

Which sort of brought me around to thinking about primitive civilizations and their worship of various gods, grand analogies to express feelings.. Which is like a physical realization being brought into the material world of consciousness to resolve a non tangible subconscious emotion (of fear etc).

I think analogies in the way which they are used to express various issues points further to this, think of lyrics (In songs), poems (which are lyrics), art and other forms of non verbal communication... so many analogies.. Which I guess shows that by implication any non verbal communication can only be an analogy of expression and understanding.

But I really do like the notion of subconscious analogies that appear into the stream of consciousness as intuition. I think Jung would have liked that one...
