    Default The Moon and mensturation...

    Well,

I was reading an evolutionary biology article a while back and nobody could seem to work out why there a monthly cycles in reproductive capability in women and why in groups these can become synchronised.

I alluded a bit to it here in this thread, but not sure if anyone actually sees its interconnection with subconsciouness and the primitive brain.

    Jung critique - Part 1

Essentially, I think this all goes back to the time we were basically amphibians crawling onto the shore and laying eggs. (Or maybe the coral blooms we see in nature). The light of the moon will have played an important part in signifying hide tide and it was biology advantageous for mass spawning (or to crawl up the beach and deposit eggs). And as such the lunar cycle plays an important part in our primitive basic functioning brain. Since then, we have added to our brain mass, but I still believe this subconscious and primitive part plays a massive input into our core functions.

Hence, alignment of reproductive cycles and a monthly lunar cycle.

It is fascinating, and you know, sometimes we rediscover stuff, I kinda love folklore, pertaining to anything/everything; there is a weather pattern sequence I study between xmas eve and new years eve, that is relevant (for me) for the rest of the year's weather..(which I learnt from an elderly German lady, and she had learnt from her parents ....grandparents...so on).

I have got off track here, but if you want check this out:

    Fertility

I have no idea who's site this is, (or the validity), but it is interesting...

Excerpt from the site on the Chinese Emperor:

"John McLeish, mathematician, included a reference in his amusing and revealing survey of maths - `Number - From ancient civilizations to the computer'

The ancient Chinese Empire was much more advanced in mathematics than the 'elitist' and 'inhibited' stagnant European cultures of that time.
[check note & other reference to Europe's Dark Age]

Over two thousand years ago Chinese court scientists (astronomers & astrologers) arranged rituals to ensure continuance of the imperial family line. Now it seems they knew more than we thought.

The Emperor's *** life was regulated - and observed - by the secretariat
    ."

It includes other things too, not just the *** life of the Chinese Emperor.

    Well,

    The statement there that says...

It seems that ancient Imperial China's canny astronomers / astrologers had found, from their extensive historical records, the correlation between night time fertility and the FULL MOON.

Pretty much backs up my theory about a full moon being a signal to aquatic life (as its visible through the ocean depths, the great lunar clock) and the timing with high tides. You can sort of imagine our slow transition to the land and how we already had a basic functioning brain, and since then it’s all been add on's really.

Not sure if that Emperor could have 9 a night though... that’s serious stamina....lol

Yes, I did a double take, then thought, well, Chinese herbs, their wellness, all the approach to wellness they have....and maybe he was a young Emperor at the time. Mind boggling a little, but perhaps not impossible over shortterm timeframes? Without going back over it to read it, he may have paced himself over the day.
