Well, I've have had for a long time a sneaking suspicion that Darwinism was only partially responsible for evolutionary change.

As an example I have always considered the notion that if an animal wants a long neck enough then over time irrespective of biological replication its descendents (also wanting longer necks) will slowly change and gravitate towards that condition.

Now, the less open minded will think that is preposterous.

But what is Darwinism? Biological mutation that is positive and then reproductively accentuated?

So what about stress as an example that accentuates cancer? What is cancer? Types of mutations at a cellular level. Maybe this is the speeding up of Biological mutation that Darwinism utilises.

What about depression? Can this cause mutations? Was it even the lucky break to our evolution?

What about activity, can this by strengthening parts of the body and also with repetition have an effect on parts of the DNA? Effectively DNA having a memory. If these parts of the DNA are activated then can they have oscillations in terms of variability and create a type of directional mutations?

Hopefully people will see that I am inferring that mutations may not just be random events. Furthermore, conditions and possibly even the mind may have an effect on the DNA by reactivating portions that were switched off.

Nb: Interesting that Darwin was from Shropshire; my ancestors were living there at the same time as well. Not related on the paternal side though.
