Once I used to think the Arts were a natural thing, either you were good at it or not.

However, It just seems more and more obvious that most "Arts" are in fact a science, sure, natural ability such as perfect pitch and so forth places you at a natural advantage... but our whole advancement is based on achieving more than natural ability. Just because you run fast does not mean I cannot beat you from A to B.

Same too with the arts, most artists have a process and a method. What you'd call a style, same too with scientific proof... the ability to replicate the outcome.

Music is all about cycles. Predictable ones in fact, the missing predictability in songs is what usually makes them interesting. Layers of sound... its all there to be unpicked. See the pattern, understand the music.

Lastly, some of us NTJ types move into creative fields (As a hobby, and as a business etc) simply because of the challenges it poses. Sometimes unstructured free form problem solving is just what is required to hype the brain and get that intensity of thought going. Analogies are used to provide unique angles to problems, they are called mathematical formula's in maths... they are also used in the arts (poetry = song writing etc etc).
