    Default The destruction of thought

    Here's an article on Einstein,

This is what I've noticed even in the IT world.

Essentially, you have to be such a process orientated person (ISTJ) that the true thinkers are more and more likely to get filtered out before they get to the boundry of the unknown.

There is a clear need for top Universities to include the laterals/ divergents into their honors and doctoral programmes simply to provide intellectual dynamics and insight.

    YES!

Of all the things with the mind, insight, free fall, empathy!! I notice so much with the IT people, business people, process orientated...you can be the smartest, cleverest person in the world but have no emotional intelligence.

I'm no dill, no drongo when it comes to IQ and achieving but ask me what is my most rated quality?

    Empathy

    Kindness

    Understanding

    Tolerance

    Patience

    Creativity!

    Imagination

    Passion

    Inspiration

    Love

Our universe can well survive without technical cleverness but it wont last long without love and compassion...creativity...remember Einstein?

For all that he did, said, achieved remember what he rated so highly?

I'll need to find his quote and get back to you so I don't go quoting 1/2 'ssed

It can be heartbreaking (at times) to try and deal with IT/investor brains, personalities at times, the iceblocks of reasoning...and they shift goal posts, which is all good and well, but some core value goal posts should never ever be shifted. There are some not negiotable things, especially when it comes to human rights issues.

    There, that feels better.

An open heart, how important is that?

    Here we go:

The secret to creativity is knowing how to hide your sources.

Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited.

I am enough of an artist to draw freely upon my imagination.

When I examine myself and my methods of thought, I come to the conclusion that the gift of fantasy has meant more to me than any talent for abstract, positive thinking.

The true sign of intelligence is not knowledge but imagination.

To raise new questions, new possibilities, to regard old problems from a new angle, requires creative imagination and marks real advance in science.

True art is characterized by an irresistible urge in the creative artist.

The monotony and solitude of a quiet life stimulates the creative mind.

It is the supreme art of the teacher to awaken joy in creative expression and knowledge.

    (All Einstein quotes.)

...and perhaps this I rate as most important:

The value of a man should be seen in what he gives and not in what he is able to receive.

Our task must be to free ourselves by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature and its beauty.

Few are those who see with their own eyes and feel with their own hearts.

    All Einstein again..

Various traits are more important than just IQ, however IQ has a reasonable correlation with academic/work ability.. and hence, the better paid people in the world have two features, 1) A skill that is demanded and 2) A skill that is hard to replicate.

In terms of human rights issues... are they actually constant throughout the world and amongst people? I don't think so. Anybody who is an activist in human rights must also be the equivalent in terms of animal and environmental issues (Humans are animals, whats the difference?). Evil to me is only a lopsided retribution or disproportionate response or action..
